disturbed
Got a little free time after dinner, so I’m taking this chance to post an entry.

I’m feeling disturbed today. A good friend is in trouble. He’s lost. Doesn’t think anything bothers, and doesn’t think anyone bothers about him, in fact. Of course it hurts to see him like this, but I’m rather helpless.

Apparently I cant really convince him that everything is actually fine.

What do I do?

If you see this, I want to stress again that everyone loves you. Honest.

Hope I’ll be back very soon. Very deeply disturbed.

To the rest of you, have a great week..
Another episode of Desperate Housewives tonight. Can’t wait.

Oh yes, if anyone absolutely has to keep me informed or send me some messages (I hope there are such ppl around), the number to get me is in my MSN. I will try to reply via internet sms when I can.
apologies
Apologies for not adding new posts for the past 3 days.. And I probably wont be able to do so until nxt tuesday coz I'll be outta town.. Promise to post something the moment i get back.. Till then, ciao.

So I was in the train towards City Hall yesterday.. An amusing thing happened.. We reached Tanjong Pagar and the train like stopped there w/o reaction for a sec. The it said "Doors Closing.. beep beep beep" and the doors opened. Heh.

Another thing.. Some I duno SA or ACJC dude was sitting on the floor (couldnt tell from the pants.. he was in some hangten tee).. Not exactly the slimmest person in the world.. Not even close.. Sitting on the floor right beside the door.. Even when the doors opened on the side he was sitting at.. Freaking in the way. Shucks.. Should've pretended to accidentally kick him.

And.. The Great Singapore Sale starts tomorrow!! I want my shoes!!!!! And bag!!!

on old friends
Secondary school life. So memorable, so sweet, so fun. The beginning of the real 'growing up' period. Lots of friends, some who promised to stay so for many more years to come. But someone JC came, ways parted and friendships got drained.

It usually takes something major or disastrous to happen to one of us or the maybe once-a-year get together organised by the same poor person/people for us to meet up again. But sometimes, even these couldn't make us keep in contact. Ok, perhaps you just want to be alone, or perhaps the friendship has turned into something more of an acquaintance..

Im not gonna just let some dearer friends drift away like this. Time to do something about it.

On another note, was flipping through the papers in the office today and there's a feature on the most popular local Blogs. And right on the cover page is no other than the lady whose blog my pal absolutely adores. Amazingly, she's got 8000 hits per day! Check out for yourself if it's really that interesting to read here..

yoda : a little green creature, it is
Believe it or not, I've never watched any Star Wars movie before.. Until today. Never really liked sci-fi movies that much.. Horrible dialogue, not much of real acting, tons of special effects make up the film.

What I watched is like something in the middle.. So my knowledge of the whole saga is almost zilch, but now I know how Darth Vader became himself and why he dons the horrible piece of metal outfit and has a burnt face. But I love Yoda. The way he speaks. Darn cool it is. Include an image of him at the end of the post i will. Oh yes, speaking of which.. I wonder why the gremlin looking jedi master needs a walking stick to help him walk but is able to hop around and deal out swift moves when he's fighting. Is he or is he not hindered in motion?

It's still not exactly my cup of tea, but there were parts that did make sense. Jedi vs Sith (star wars fans correct me if im wrong anywhere). Which is 'evil'? A jedi will think a sith is evil. A sith will think jedis are likewise. Explanation: both are trying to get rid of the other force they think is the spoiler and come into power, so in that sense they are actually not that different. Kinda like real life, ain't it.. It's difficult to judge on certain situations sometimes..

Oh, and Anakin Skywalker is the character with behaviour that's closest to real human beings. Blinded by love, greed, power, and everything. Captures the essence of selfishness of our specie. Excellent.

But still doesnt make me a fan of this whole thing. Still dont get all excited about light sabres and all.. However as promised, here's a picture of Yoda with his green beam of a sword. May the force be with the fans.

money, feelings n some chalkboard fun
Someone stop me. I spent over $100 today! And that's even before the start of the Sale. How how how? It's too difficult to control.

On a more serious note, I realized that there were some things bother me more than I thought they will. It's not right, but I feel kind of uneasy regarding certain stuff that's come to my knowledge.

Or is my buying spree sort of linked to the fact that im vexed right now? Shit.. Adidas, Puma and Le Coq Sportif (or 'ayam brand' as i call it coz my pronunciation of french is about as good as that of indian) should stop luring me. You people design stuff too darned well!

Lastly, 3 pics from an email I received. Pretty impressive use of chalk I must say..

im back.. finally..
Finally

Sitting comfortably in my room right now.. My house suddenly seemed very familiar but in my memory the last time I saw it felt so long ago when it was just 8 days..

This trip was so different from the other 3 trips.. Ok not exactly THAT different, but in a sense that I missed home and everyone over here so much.. So so so so much.. And an extremely rare thing happened.. I missed going home to see my parents too..

Why? No idea.. It was just like the past 3 occasions.. A week away, limited use of the internet and phone.. Hmm..

Something might've struck me. Haha..

Could it be the new 9pm drama on ch8? Maybe a teeny weeny bit..

But it's good. Think im starting to really treasure the things and people around me..

Nice to be back.

am i biased?
Was watching 100% Entertainment on Channel U earlier.. And there was this Jolin Tsai singing contest between the hostess and 3 friends.. After listening to the songs that the 4 of them sang, I realized that there were more Jolin songs that I liked that I thought.

Anyway my point is not that Jolin is a fabulous singer or something.. I mean yea she can sing, or else she would never have made it big.. The point is, I think I was always biased towards her because of the cutesy image she portrays. So I was thinking, have I been denying that there were some things or people I liked because of the “image problem”? Probably subconsciously a part of me didn’t wish to be linked to liking a so-called “act cute” image.

Might have.. I think I should just appreciate whatever I think is good and let the image question aside. Do not be afraid of being accused with liking something with a slightly less than desirable image.. And just show appreciation to talent.

By the way, im consuming too much instant noodles.
AND.. The new Campbell’s powdered instant soup sucks. Big time.

who cares?
Squawkster's post inspired this. And made me recall a couple of incidents.

I realized something.. That most people can't really be bothered about themselves, and that there are some seriously kind-hearted people around..

Incident #1:
Was at HMV yesterday browsing thru some CDs and DVDs..
There was a Huge special packaged DVD that dropped on the floor.. There were 3 people along that particular shelf.. And one guy just simply walked across it.
Yes, RIGHT ACROSS it.
Yea, maybe he did miss it. But somehow he didnt trip over that thing and fall flat on his face. Very coincidentally he made a much bigger step when he reached the spot where the disc was. How disgusting is that? I wish nobody would help him when he trips, falls and twists his bloody ankle.

Incident #2
Was on my way back from breakfast with my aunt today and we saw my neighbour who stays 2 doors away lying on the floor under the next block.. He's in his 60s or 70s.. Stays with his son, but his son goes to work early in the morning and returns home late at night..

So anyway I was sure that he's been lying down there for at least a couple of minutes already coz I didn't see him fall while walking towards the block.. Apparently he slipped and fell.. (due to the damned weather) There were like a couple of aunties in front of us.. Some extremely irritating and noisy aunties who talks like the one they're speaking to is deaf.. Surprisingly they didn't see the old uncle on the floor.. Their mouths must've been way too big and took up some of the space where their eyes should be..

Why didn't they help? Because they didn't want to trouble themselves? Because they think a samaritan would pass by sooner or later? Because my neighbour had some hygiene problems? Because they thought he was a beggar? Because the old man couldnt speak properly and no other human in the world could understand even if he was asking for help? Or because they just couldn't be freaking bothered about others?

The least they could do was to ask if the poor old man was okay if they didn't have the strength to help him up. Arg I feel so disgusted by these people. Gross.

But, thank god.. Out of the several people who made me turn my innards out this couple of days, there was a kind soul to compensate. A maid. Either Filipino or Indonesian. She helped out to bring the old man back to his apartment. Got him water. Helped him to the bed. Talked to him, albeit in English that the old man totally had no idea what she was babbling about.. But hey, she helped! SHE'S A MAID! Someone who gets a measly pay and would probably get a scolding when she gets home coz she took longer than supposed to to buy breakfast for the spoilt brats! I applaud you. I truly do. Don't worry, you'll get enough money to bring back home.

Shame on the people who didnt help. SHAME ON YOU.
Im on the verge of slamming some stuff now. Way too disgusted.

Gross out.

mother's day / n.y.d.c.
Another hour-odd more to the end of Mother's Day.. So basically my mom whipped up a meal herself.. But my dad and I did the dishes so.. It's still sort of a special day for her.. Haha..

Fine I'm not very good at having those big parties and surprises and all for mummy's day.. But I do love her. Haha.. Does she know? Hopefully she does..

To ALL mothers.. Not just my own one.. Hope you all had a really great day..
Why am I wishing my friends' mums too? Coz I got a sms today saying..
Can you thank your mum for me? Coz without her I wont be able to meet a great person like you..
Amazingly sweet..
Thanks, JZ..

---moving on---

This is one week late.. It's for those who go for quantity.. And those who love coffee..

Was at NYDC last weekend and while ordering, I saw a lady drinking from a jar. I laughed at her. Thought it looked kinda comical and exaggerated to be having such a big drink.

I ordered my drink, with the usual NYDC funny name.
It was called an Elephancinno.

Guess what? A Giant Cuppa was served right before me.

Yes. In a JAR.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
-comparing the size of the jar and a glass-

Actually the difference is larger than it looks coz the jar is squarish, therefore the volume is quite alot larger..

So for an overdose of caffeine (good for those getting ready to party the night away), there's now an alternative to Espresso shots..

Cheers to the jar.
got windows longhorn?
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
The answer according to the pirated cd-rom shop near my house is apprently yes.. Thing is, the consumer edition of the operating system to replace Windows XP is supposed to be "released hopefully by 2006".

So how did they manage to get it onto their shelves? No idea.

Wonderful mystery.

the epitome of coolness
Turns out that this thing actually is a good way to kill time.

And may I digress.. I will get out of the crush. Time limit: a few weeks. Confirmed.
Ok. Done.

Back to the post.

To kill time, I surfed around.. 3 ice cool products caught my eye.

1. Puma Phillipe Starck Sandal
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Time to throw away those Havaianas flip-flops.. Have you ever seen a pair of sandals so sleek? Designed by Phillipe Starck whose credits include the Starck Fossil Watch and Starck Microsoft Mouse, Im drooling over it already.. And it's in attention-grabbing orange! Love it. Webbie shows that it's available in 4 other colours.. It's already available in Singapore..

2. Sony Ericsson W800 'Walkman" mobile phone
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
An MP3 player or a mobile? Or even a digital camera? It works as all 3. Basic specs: 262k TFT colour screen, Triband, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera with auto-focus 8x digital zoom and flash light, MP3 player function with 512MB memory stick standard with phone, extra long battery life for extended MP3 playback, 99g weight, size of a 6230.. And those who owns a S700i should know it's got a good camera and audio quality better than low end dedicated MP3 players. Wow. Simply amazing. Coming within this year!

3. Frank Gehry Fossil watch
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Designed by postmodern architect Frank Gehry for Fossil, this watch is simple and elegant. Features an oversized round dial with Gehry's trademark font. Brushed titanium case with mirrored dial, genuine leather strap. Comes with an exclusively crafted box made of aluminum lid and corrugated cardboard base. Lid includes Gehry's imprinted autograph. And.. the price! US$105 from the Fossil website.. Not that expensive for a special edition watch eh?

You may expect to see one of these becoming my possessions in future.. Haha.. (I hope)

Back with more later.. I've gotta go get dinner.
a crush
I get crushes. Pretty easily.

I've got to stop fantasising what happens in 'the moment'. Im taking it too seriously.

But i couldn't help it. Some things just seem real.

Yup whatever, this cant go on, and i will get over it.

Have a good weekend folks.. Im gonna build my dream house in The Sims 2.

Back with more tonight.

fun math fact
Got this off the internet..

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Take a pizza and choose an arbitrary point in it. Cut it up in 8 slices, at 45 degrees through that point, alternating the colour of the pieces.

Fact: The area of the green slices and that of the maroon slices will Always be the same!

And by the way, it works if you cut it up into any number of slices in multiples of 4 (bar 4), and in equal angles, through a fixed point.

Not bad eh?

supermarket happenings #2
Apparently supermarkets are more interesting places than most people thought..

I was at a supermart yesterday and recalled a funny incident that happened to my friend..

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Im sure you've seen this section of the mart before.. And the promoters are usually the aunties, cos well, it's targeting a more specific demograph, mainly other aunties..

Imagine browsing thru products on the shelves n one of the auntie promoters come up to you and said

"Boy/Girl, wa.. your face is not very good leh.. So many blackheads! You Need This!" and shoves you one of the products.

How insulting is that?

Haha..

A suggestion for a counter attack:

"In that case I think you need this, this, this and this too, auntie.." And shove her a few more other products..

Any other similar experiences or other suggestions to counter attack these aunties?

a matter of taste
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
-Swensen's Crown Prince Hotel-

Wow, the queue outside Swensen's Crown Prince Hotel..

Now do all these people has malfunctioning taste buds and logic (consider the price), or am I the only one who thinks that it's totally a place not worth visiting?

The opening of 24hr Coffee Club beside Cali Orchard and NYDC Heeren that opens till 2am did help me steer even further away from that place. Go on, try the other 2 places.. You wouldnt wanna go back to Swensen's again..

Oh yes, I edited the "Swensen's" part of the pic cos my camera couldnt capture it.

peace
Former president Mr Wee Kim Wee has passed away..
Ok I may not know him or anything.. But there's this very friendly feeling i get from him.
May he rest in peace.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
-in loving memory of a previous president-

Contrary to common belief, I'm totally fine after the previous post. Somehow my shoulders felt lighter, somewhat more open and a certain sense of peace. Tranquility. No should I or shouldnt I hair-tugging contemplation.. And the concern over how i was coping with it has been encouraging. I have got to mention names this time round.. To Violet, Jeanie, Vincent and Kanghao.. Very very very appreciative of you guys.. You are wonderful. =)

Peace out.

Serious mood is gone. Be ready for a slew of bitchings soon.

shocker(?)
Post removed because I think most people would've seen it or heard about it by now.

I don't feel comfortable staring at it everytime i log in too.
wrong judgement
Wrong judgements. Really wrong judgements.

I made one a few months ago.

How could I have ever been so dumb? How could I have committed to you?
Never imagined it would be so different right after everything.

Do not entertain me further if there's absolutely no sincerity in whatever you're doing to make things sound remotely okay.

No, Im not upset with you, im more upset that I actually allowed it to end up as it is now.

Really have to open my eyes instead of following my heart now on.

Honestly, it's crap. Guys, do not follow your heart.

another car for today
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Smart Coupe

I was FORCED (heh..) to create this post because someone says "oh so there'll b a link!" find out for yourself who else has a Smart car somewhere..

Anyway, this car doesn't really have good brains.. It's just a brand..

You may have pretty good luck if u see this car on the road.. Coz if the distributor didnt import any more cars since the first batch last year, there should only be about 10 of them scooting around..

Cute thing eh?
Exige means.... (part 2)
Earlier I posted that Exige is the name of a Lotus car and that it is not an english word..

I looked up on it and... it's a French word!

Exige means demand (v) in French..

Yea, maybe im a little demanding too.. I picked the right name..
